Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Fellow Engineer to support ongoing operations in Aiken, SC.
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical
fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated
technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
DUTIES:
Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS.
Primary responsibilities include:
Considered an internal expert in area of expertise.
Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.
Can solve complex problems in field.
The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 15 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.
Candidate must demonstrate experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; AccidentAnalysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures.
