Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Senior Design Specialist to support ongoing operations in Greenville, SC. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in computer aided design (CAD) with demonstrated experience with computer aided.
  • Use drafting applications to originate and produce drawings with minimum supervision.
  • 3D modeling experience required (S3D preferred).
  • Read, interpret and generate design drawings with minimal input from a member of the engineering staff.
  • Must have the ability to walk down field systems with minimal guidance, interpret field direction, generate minor design details, create new drawings, modify existing drawings, and direct junior drafters.

Education Requirements

Must have a minimum of an associate degree in a field related to the position and a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in drafting related to Engineering and Construction (nuclear preferred).

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. 
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check. 
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance. 
  • Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to specialized (nuclear or other areas) engineering design.
  • Background and experience must include drafting/designer experience in engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, fire protection or civil.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred. 
  • Previous DOE/NNSA work experience. 

Work Schedule

Shift will be dependent upon customer site discretion.
