Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer 3 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit.
  • Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project.
  • Demonstrates technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and a minimum of 6 years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. Advanced engineering or technical degree is highly desired. 
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in managing technical teams and interfacing with other engineering disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of technical scope development and senior-level understating of common engineering design document deliverables.
  • Advanced knowledge of design development and design review process (30%/60%/90%) and extensive prior experience facilitating design reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes and standards in common use at DOE and DOD facilities (ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of common project schedule and cost tracking methodologies and programs (P6, MS Project, EVMS, etc.).
  • Demonstrated understanding of US Government contracting or procurement methods/processes, specifically related to subcontract Architecture & Engineering agreements.
  • Experienced as a mentor and advisor to junior engineers.
  • Prior experience working for/with the DOE or DOD in an engineering or project management capacity.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q Clearance.  An already active clearance is preferred.
  • Training/Certifications: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable.
