Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a Director of Programs to join our team.  The Director of Programs will be responsible for providing on-site leadership and management for the company’s regional office in Los Alamos, NM. He/She will be accountable for efficient and effective operations within the business unit.  This role will be responsible for managing key client accounts and overseeing projects that drive business growth and enhance customer satisfaction. A deep understanding of client needs and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering exceptional service will be crucial to success in this role.  This position reports to the Vice President of Technical Services.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, serving as their primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
  • Understand clients' business needs and objectives, providing tailored solutions that align with their goals.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and reviews to assess client satisfaction and identify opportunities for offering additional products and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (i.e., Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Contracts, Accounting, etc.) to ensure timely and effective delivery of services and solutions to clients.
  • Lead the development and approval process for technical proposals, contracts, and pricing agreements, to maximize value for both the client and the company.
  • Cooperate with Contracts and Accounting to monitor project/account performance metrics and develop strategies to enhance client retention and growth while maximizing company revenue and profitability.
  • Lead and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational goals including developing detailed project plans, defining scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address any challenges.
  • Supervise the Resource Manager(s) assigned to the Program Management Office.
  • Participate in local and regional events that enhance the company’s brand image.
  • Support the corporate office by participating in working groups, semi-annual Town Halls, holiday events, corporate offsites and retreats, and other events annually.
  • Provide routine and ad hoc reporting regarding staffing, business profit/loss, and business development opportunities
  • Accountability for the business unit as a profit and loss center

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project/program management or the technical services industry with a strong track record of managing key client accounts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, projects, and budgets.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM tools.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Program Manager or Project Manager certifications, such as the PMP, PgMP, or FAC-P/PM, for Program Manager or Project Manager are a plus.
  • Prior experience working on Department of Energy (DOE) contracts, particularly at the Savannah River Site, for Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is highly desirable.
