Overview

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Work Control Planner III to support ongoing operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of and experience with work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
    Ability to fully understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Ability to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work-planning activities.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions to problems affecting work control and planning.
  • Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Skill in preparing and presenting work control reports.
  • Working knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Laboratory's infrastructure and site planning policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiar with and or having an understanding of facility support equipment, such as HVAC systems, Compressors, Boilers, and Electrical Distribution systems.
  • Knowledgeable in tracking work activities from conception through completion, preferably in the construction management and/or facility management industries.
  • Active “Q” clearance.
